Hello Sephylon here to share with you all my main character's build: spellfist build sorc.

I'd just like to start by saying: Contrary to popular belief, spellfist is capable of doing aoe dps via pw, dd, or eg. Only difference is that they have to swap a few gears to do so. Auto cast variants not withstanding. They're their own thing relying on gears to autcast aoe skills like pw, eg, dd, vs, fire ball, and thunderstorm off the top of my head. If you're looking for an aoe build, I would recommend Icy's caster guide.

Spellfist Mechanics

  • As opposed to the caster variant, spellfist focuses on melee bursts to do its job. Not to say that it can't clear the room, it just can't do it as efficiently as the caster variant since it doesn't specialize in it. In order to use spellfist, you need to cast (yes cast) a bolt spell then use spell fist to interrupt the casting. This will then turn a number of hits, equal to the skill's lvlx3, into magical damage with an element based on the bolt spell used. As noted on iro wiki, the damage will be:
  • Damage(MATK)% = Base_Damage + (Bolt_Lv × 100)


 

  • Any modifier to bolt damage, such as imp and siroma cards, will also increase spellfist's damage. Additionally, the weapon equipped when interrupting a bolt spell will have no bearings on the damage of spellfist, only the weapon equipped when attacking does. Further more, since this skill is a magic attack, it doesn't benefit from cards or skills that boost physical damage such as hydra card or desert wolf card, and also doesn't suffer from size penalty bonuses. It is, however, considered a melee attack. As such skills that affect melee will work on it. This includes: safety wall, double attack, reflect shield, auto guard, parry, and stone skin.

Game Play:

  • You are the battle mage. Your goal is to get up-close and personal in order to unload your magical fists on your target.
  • As such this build is slightly more dangerous than the caster variant, but rewards you with better bursts and dps default_Ggg.gif . It still, however, does have access to safety wall and fog wall to provide some cushon, as well as access to insignias to change the element of the opponent's attacks mitigating the damage they do when wearing the same element armor.

Tips of the trade:

  • Try to have a soul linker/reaper present. Or dual client with one.
  • Sage Spirit is the playmaker of this build. It lets you autocast your bolt spells at lvl 10 instead of 5.
  • For your survival  a soul linker/reaper is paramount to mage classes due to their skill Kaahi which heals you for upto 1400 hp every time something attacks you, even if the attack misses or is blocked. Additionally, this heal goes through gtb card, allowing you to heal while wearing one.
  • Elemental armors, when paired with the corresponding insignias offer alot of extra survivability for you. And if your target happens to be of the opposite element, the insignia will also drain their hp.
  • Kaahi can only be used on other reaper/linkers and their family. It can't be given to others unless the reaper is linked, or your spouse.
  • Also worth noting: spellfist procs hp leech cards and gears like hunterfly, and other on hit effects.
  • You can use hunterfly to help sustain yourself in solo situations.
  • To help you reach 193 aspd, use  656.pngAwakening Potion, 645.pngConcentration Potion/12414.pngGuarana Candy, and12437.pngConcentrated Ceromain Soup along with +10 and 20 food items.
  • You can easily get +10 food item effect via 30023.pngMarhaval Potion which you can obtain via the vote shop, just vote daily for limit ro.

 

Skills

Mage Branch

  • Bolt spells and safety wall are the only skills worth taking to level 10.
  • If specializing on fire or wind, take and max out fireball and thunderstorm respectively.
  • If using a rockridge set, get fireball at lvl 10 and if its +9, max thunderstorm.


Sage Branch

  • Auto Spell, Study, and Free Cast are absolutely needed to be maxed imo.
  • Auto Spell, because of the skill updates, changed how it works to cast spells at half of its learned level instead of random levels for bolts and fixed levels for everything else.(Due to client limitations, the bolt spell available for autospell is randomized. This will be fixed with the client update later this year.)
  • Max out Free Cast to learn lvl 10 double attack with sorc night cap, and Study to reduce after attack delay in order to make it easier to transition between casting bolts and attacking.
  • Other skills worth noting are Double Bolt for the double attack effect on bolt skills, as well as Earth Spike and Heaven's Drive;
  • 2 skills that are newly added to Auto Spell with the former getting buffed to essentially be an "Earth Bolt" (other than the fact it isn't affected by double bolt, ju card, and the night cap default_Sob.gif )
  • along with Thunder Storm, which serves as decent aoe autocasts  at early levels.
  • Heaven's Drive especially if using mavka cards and sage shadow shoes.
  • Endow Spells are also worth investing into as kro's skill update changed their mechanics and they will work as Lichtern cards at level 5.
  • Additionally, the water, wind and earth endows each play a part in dd, vs and eg's damage formula respectively.

 


Sorc Branch

  • Spell Fist, pretty much a given default_Heh.gif . You can spend the rest of your skill points on anything else that you wish. I personally invested them into Psychic Wave, Diamond Dust, and Earth Grave for some aoes, along with the spirits for their passive buffs. Additionally, level 3 insignias are very useful for boosting the damage of their respective element by 25%, while level 2 insignias give you better survivability by changing the element of the weapons of all targets inside. Insignias at any level heals everything inside them with the same element for 1% of their max hp every few seconds, while draining the same amount of hp from everything inside that are the opposite element. It also increases the damage targets inside take from the opposite element, ex: Fire insignia increases the damage targets inside take from water property attacks, earth insignia will increase fire property damage targets inside take, etc. Their static nature and long cooldowns however make them rather situational for general pve, but very useful vs bosses in instances.

  • All level of spirits on passive modes have their uses. Be weary of ventus though, she reduces your cast time making it harder to interrupt your bolt spells. 
  • Level 1 spirits: Their passive mode boosts their respective bolt damage by 10%, which also translates to a boost to spellfist. A level 1 spirit is the best option for burst damage
  • Level 2 spirits: endows your Psychic Wave. Use this for when you're dealing with trash mobs.
  • Level 3 spirits: these big boys and girls cast a bolt of their respective element while attacking, the level of which is your jlvl/10 rounded down. This is essentially a 2nd autospell for you. The spells casted by these spirits are affected by double bolt and is the better option in terms of sustained damage.

My Current Gears

Other shields I use are the alice vshield vs bosses, gtb card immune shield for malaya instances and eq spam bosses (seriously, gtb just makes those bosses a joke), and horn vshield for ogh as the raydric archers are the only thing I find to be dangerous there. I also have a geffen magic robe for when I have to swap out cmb. Faw is enchanted with spell 6/5/6 and has marsh arclouse card. I'm using nightmare verit on my boots, mental stick is spell 4/4, and flat robe is int3 vit1. Things I'm planning to get include: mob scarf, nightmare amon/entwan card, an imp card, another lichtern red card, a vepser card, and some alot of hd ores from the cash shop default_Heh.gif. Currently working on the rockridge quests to get a mob scarf
