Hiya everyone! I'm Anj Inyghem from the PvM guild: The Memorial Moment (TMM). After playing a whole variety of classes in the server, only the Shadow Chaser class really stuck on to me. Its gameplay is widely different and far more exciting compared to the job classes I've played and tinkered with.

This guide will mainly highlight the basics on how to gear up asomewhat decent Shadow Chaser, as well as general tips on how to amp and spice up on how we normally play this class. In addition to that, this will also cover how to control the Backslide skill, which is an integral part of the gameplay this job class can offer.

I am hoping that this guide will inspire future PVM Shadow Chasers, and shed some light into the intricacies this niche class can do.

I highly suggest reading Caphleo's guide on Bow Chasers first before continuing on to this. It's a great guide and I got most of the fundamentals and the proper startups and expectations of this class. I love it, and I hope you do too.

RTENOTITLE


Overview

The physical dagger sc focuses on spamming RTENOTITLEFatal Menace to dispatch mobs while relying on leeching gears to sustain them selves. The build is easy to start out with in terms of gears, but falls off in endgame compared to other classes and builds due to its melee limitations, and the lack of gears that support the build until 17.1 comes. The build however is good for low and mid tier instances for those starting get, giving them a foot in the door.

 

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Low gear investment needed to start up
  •  Able to solo low and mid instances
  • Easy sustain with mid tier gears
  • Can reach over 200k spam

 

Cons

  • Melee range makes it susceptible to the damage reflection of end game mobs.
  • Out done by other classes at end game.
  • End game mobs have very high hit making it difficult to survive.

 

Stats

Recommended Stats
Str 120+ Main stat for damage. Get 125 if using RTENOTITLE YSF01 Plate.
Agi 80+ For animation delay and some aspd.
Vit 100 total For status immunities.
Int 50+ Get enough int for your sp.
Dex 80+ Get enough dex to hit your targets. If going for RTENOTITLEFeint Bomb, get 100 minimum to boost its damage.
Luk 1+ Dump the rest of your stat points here
